The University of Wisconsin Green Bay Honor Society was founded October 4, 1985. The society was chartered on May 6, 1988 as Kappa Pi Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.

 

The Honor Society of Bellin College was founded on September 21, 1989. Since the founding of these honor societies, it was the goal of the membership of each group to create a chapter at-large.

 

Kappa Pi Chapter at-Large of Sigma Theta Tau International was created for the purpose of recognizing superior achievement, recognizing and developing leadership qualities, fostering high professional standards, encouraging creative work and strengthening the commitment to the ideals and purposes of the profession.

 

Kappa Pi Chapter at-Large was chartered on April 25, 1996.
